My chocolate point Siamese is almost 9 years old. She has the worst smelling breath. What would cause her breath to be so rank? It is bad enough to make you gag if she opens her mouth in your face. I don't think she has any bad teeth. I am not sure though. I just need to know what would be the cause so I can get it fixed if need be. Thanks

Get the teeth checked by a Vet first. NEW

Just to make sure no bad teeth or infection had occurred. Then try some dental cat treats from Pet smart.I get Feline Greenies. My cats love them and you go by weight so they can have a few a day.Give your baby one every 4 hours or so.They sleep the rest of the time.Good luck and keep us posted.

Siamese bad breath NEW
by: Doris Arnold

Hi! Just read about your dilemma with your cat and his breath....My lilac Siamese is three now, but I got him when he was 5 weeks old and even then his breath was atrocious! My vet told me that many Siamese cats have bad breath and problems with their gums because the breed has been changed from the apple head to a wedge shape head which in turn doesn't give their teeth enough room. I'm afraid that you will probably have to have his teeth cleaned. It does help. Promise!
