We just got a ten week old kitten that looks rather like a javanese; marked like the siamese but without the classic head and face if a siamese. We are introducing her to our 16 week old male. He loves her and stares at her. The problem is that our newcomer automatically hisses and swats at him. Has anyone had a similar experience and how is this best addressed? She loves us though. We want her to grow up playing with our older kitten. Any advice?

When I first introduced my Siamese to my roommates Russian Blue it was through a window screen placed in the door frame of my room. We left it there until they were pretty use to each other and then we removed it. To later find that they would never be to far from each other. So maybe you could your own method as far as where you would like the screen to be placed for them to get use to each other for a bit. I hope the best for you and yours and good luck.But, I don't think you have much to worry about.

Introducing a new cat

I have found out over the years that when introducing a new cat, you have to take some precautions. After all, cats are very territorial. With them both being young it should be even easier.

Go to this page and it tell you step by step of introducing a new cat. Be aware that many homes have multiple cats and that cats are very social and will learn how to get along or at least co-exist with each other.
