Getting a companion

by Wendy
(Chorleywood Herts UK)

Has any one advice for us, We have a oriental carmel cat called Poppy aged 12 she has renal failure and at present is at the vets, we also have a 5 years old tabby point siamese called Yumyum he is a neutered male, the cats get on so well, but when anything happens to Poppy we do not know what to do, would a robust male take to a kitten should we try to get an older cat should we get a kitten to be with both cats so that the female cat can help look after a new arrival, Yum is so active he will be so lonely on his own please has anyone out there any advice for me.
