Mao now

Mao now Mao and Leela a month ago

Hello

I have two kittens. Lynx point almost 5 months old Leela, and 3 and a half months old Mao.
Mao is suppose to be choco point, but I'm not that sure about it. I got her when she wasn't even 2 months old, and she was white. I know that choco points develop their colors later, but nobody said when. She is getting some colors on her face, ears, paws and her tail...but it doesn't seem right...Her tail has rings, and one of her paws is white...

Choco point

Thanks for your comment. They are both amazing cats, and they take a good care of each other.
I just wonder every day about Mao.I know both of her parents and they both have papers.I'm a little "scared" that she might be tortie, because she has a tinny little orange spot on her ear.I just don't understand her dark tail with rings, and everything else kinda getting brown.

Thanks for advices Tereza

Chocolate Point
by: Beatrice

Dear Tereza,

If you cat is a chocolate point, there should be very definite markings of deep dark chocolate on her paws and legs, ears and face and tail. No question of any other colour and the rest of the body should be completely white/cream. I wonder if there is a bit of in-breeding or cross with a tortie, it sounds as if she may not be a pure chocolate point.

I hope that this helps, but she looks a beauty nevertheless from her photo.

Kind regards,

Beatrice from Co. Wicklow in Ireland
