(Canvey Island Essex)

My mum died last November and Khan was very much her cat.
He is 18 years Old and is loosing lots of weight, he eats all the time but soon as he gets the run's. I have tried worming and changing foods but he is getting thinner and looks old and weak, could he be pining for my mum ?

Depressed?
by: Anonymous

Hi Debbie! He is probably depressed and misses your mum! Although Siamese cats are lovely family cats they do tend to have somebody in their family they consider number 1. If he he is 18 years old I assume he has had a long and loving life with your mum. And now she's gone and everything has changed. New home ( I assume) and "new" family and new routines. It takes a long time for humans to mourn a loved one and considering how intelligent and "human like" Siamese cats are, maybe it's the same for them.
I'm sure lots of love and patience will help him to get back on track. X

take him to the vet

He could have a thyroid problem or something serious. They may be able to put him on medicine and help regulate it.
