My 9 month old Siamese is suddenly peeing all over the house in small amounts!

by Tish
(U.S.)

My Siamese has began peeing all over the house in the last few months. He knows how to use his litter box because he has all bowel movements there and also pees in there, but still he pees everywhere else. He does seem to fit the UTI sign list, so I have an appt with the vet, but I'm worried if that isn't it, how do I get it under control?? My husband is ready to boot him out of the house and I don't blame him, but I would be crushed! I absolutely love him like I love my children. Please help me with this!

My male does it too! NEW
by: Anonymous

Hi, I have a male flame or red point Siamese who's also peeing in the house. Like the top post he does use the litter box but yet I actually walked into my living room and he was peeing in plain sight. I've brought him to the vet. He's healthy. So I'm at a loss. I have 1 male (unfixed) puppy and 1 female Bengal/Siamese mix (fixed) but they are grew up with each other and are only 2 months apart in age. Could this be because of our puppy? I'm a stay at home wife and while Masaaki has bonded more with my husband he and his siblings get all the love they want. Any one have any ideas? Masaaki is about 11 months old at this point (April) and began peeing in the house in December. We have had him since September.

Hi there,

I think that this is one of two things, a UTI and this can be confirmed on microscopy or a territorial issue. If it is the latter, then your cat is trying to establish his territory as he feels threatened by something, another cat, or a dog? and is desperately trying to mark out his territoy, sounds like this as he is a young male. Needs lots of cuddles and affection to show him that he is still NO. 1 in your affections and is not threatned.

HOpe this helps,
