My Lynx Point Siamese!

by Cat
(Long Beach, CA)

I stumbbled across a woman down the street from me who had a bunch of kittens she wanted to get rid of. I picked out this guy because he was a long hair and had such odd markings. Little did I know he was a lynx point. Hes the sweetest cat I've ever owned. Hes a talker, has big blue eyes and demands my attention. He can do some of the oddest things. He'll lay in a box and meow until hes found. He'll run into walls given the fact hes still a little cross eyed. Hes just the sweetest boy in thw world. I did end up naming him Lynx given at the time I had no idea he was a lynx point. But I dont think Ill ever find a better siamese cat.

adopt one or two? NEW
by: Anonymous

Hi everyone. My name is
Chris. My guy and I are planning to adopt a feline friend in a few months. I am researching Linux Point Siamese Cats because they have a reputation for their intelligence, amazing social interaction with other animals and humans and their playfullness. I am wondering if anyone has a Linx Point Siamese that goes hiking with them or camping or does other outdoor activities as part of the family? Also I have read that if their family works 40 hrs weeks they should have a companion to keep them company. Does anyone work 40 hrs per week and only have one Linx point siamese cat that is well adjusted and happy?

Siamese re gifts from Heaven NEW
by: Margaret in Washington

I am 78 years old and have owned many different Siamese over the years. Smart? Oh my gosh!! Recently adopted a stray from a vet, that is long-haired Lynx. She has the sweetest personality. Sleeps with me and my husband. Wakes me up in the morning by licking my eye-lids. And loves to play and be groomed. I have found that she doesn't mind a warm bath. Being long-haired, I use a hair blower on her and all thru this, I talk soothingly to her, telling her she's a good girl. And when she's dry, honestly, she looks like a "show cat". Annie is an indoor cat and been de-clawed by some previous owner. We sure love our new baby. Owners of Siamese should treasure them. They are very special cats.

Great cats! NEW
by: Dave

I have a lynx and his stripes are equal on both sides of his body. It's as if someone took a marker and drew them on. His wiskers have black dots where they grow from and perfectly balanced on both sides...even his paws are identical. He has perfect blue eyes and super smart cat. He loves to meow and we have conversations all the time...he answers me with different meows as if we are really talking! I let him out before I go to work, come home and he's waiting on me, comes up to me and starts meowing. He does the rollie pollie which I call rolling on his back over and over when I ask him to. It's unbelievable! I'm so lucky to have this cat!! Everyone that ever sees him loves him..he's so big and thick..all muscle and no flab at all...22 lbs!! 10 years old.

I just adopted a 4 month old Lynx Point and he is a joy! The first day home he figured out what held the cat treats and was trying to open the container. He is friendly with his 2 big brother cats. He loves to play. He is very affectionate. Very very smart!

Amazing kitty NEW
by: Bonnie's Mamma

My beautiful blue-eyed kitten came to me through sheer luck via a friend who just adopted her only to find out that she was allergic. "Bobbie" turned out to be a very special cat with a big personality and lot of love to give. She wrestles with dogs - even those she doesn't know very well and I'll often find her grooming her dog "sister." She's almost too friendly for her own good; she runs up to strangers, visits neighbors, and rolls on her belly in front if people she just met. I have to watch her because a few neighbors assumed she was homeless because she acts so desperate for attention and she learned how to take off her collar. I had to introduce her to everyone and let them know that even through Bobbie may show up at their door, she does have a home. I tried to make her am I door cat but she's just so curious and loves to climb trees, she could not stand to be kept inside a boring d house all dAy. She's a typical lynx point Siamese: beautiful, outgoing, smart, silly and loving.

Elvis has entered the building!!!! NEW
by: Bigpink1 Alaska

We recently adopted our Lynx Point Siamese, Elvis, from a Craig's List ad. Seems that someone dumped him off at the end of a country road. Well they had no idea what a great cat he is. So sweet tempered and loving. Very playful and inquisitive. A bit cross-eyed though. It's just part of his charm. He doesn't even mind the pair of chihuahuas that were already here. He'll have them whipped into shape in no time.

We found ours at an adopt-a-thon NEW
by: Chia-S

They had her marked as "Long-haired mix," but her markings are too distinctive to be accidental crossbreeding and her eyes are a vivid blue. She is very smart, naughty, and sweet--all at the same time. She's also incredibly talkative.

We just found one at Pet-Smart. We haven't decided on a name yet, although we are thinking Fluffy. We just got her tonight. She is gorgeous and somewhat cross eyed. I can't wait for her to integrate into our family.

My Lynx Point NEW
by: Sue

"Jet" found us last September. She has been the best addition to our family. She is vocal, but does not have the raucous meow of the seal point siamese we had previously. She is bright, playful and so very loving. Wants to touch us constantly and when sleeping places her front paws on either my face or my husband's. She is beautiful and a little too friendly for my tastes. She will walk up to strangers and rub against their legs. She is also good around children. Our little wonder! One oddity . . . she will not eat her catfood if it has set out more than about an hour. She wants new food each time she visits her dish. Anyone else experience this behavior?

I own a Lynx-point NEW
by: Anonymous

Mine is not that vocal at all. She only meows before you go to pick her up and occasionally to get your attention. But it's very odd for her to speak.

Beau + my Lynx point kitten NEW
by: Kathleen

I adopted him in 11/11 at the animal shelter in San Pedro on Gaffey. They are the nicest bunch of people + take great care of the animals and the public. He is 3 months old and is stunning in beauty with brown-tan-blond markings plus very cheerful and plays/eats very well. He has blue eyes, dotes on my male manx Pugsleys but rarely meows.

Sadie the Lynx Point
by: Lorraine

I just rescured a lynx point from the pound, and after 3 weeks of ownership, I am completely and totally in love with her. Her name is Sadie and she is just hilarious! The best thing about her is that she is smart, follows me around like a dog and once she goes to bed at night, she doesn't move! She is wonderful and I am happy to be her pet parent!

Your boy looks like he could be my girl's brother, very similar in coloration, length of fur, and even favored position, as seen in the photo.

Beautiful kitty!
by: MrsDebiA

He is beautiful. I rescued a pretty female lynx point from the animal shelter and named her Samantha. She lived to be about 15 (we think, she was a young adult when we got her out). She was one of the sweetest, most gentle cats I have known. Enjoy your kitty!
