My mom's cat has bitten her three times now on the leg....

She has had him for awhile and she says she loves him and he is usually a very well behaved cat. He will all of a sudden run at her and bite her on the leg. She has to go to the dr. now because it might be infected. She doesn't want to get rid of him, but doesn't know what to do. He is an adult, maybe 5 yrs. Siamese snowshoe. They have had him since he was a kitten and when they travel I babysit him. He tried to bite me once, but I smacked him on the backside right away and he never tried to bite me after that. I didn't hit him hard enough to hurt him, just enough to let him know he can't do that. My mom said she yells "no" at him and lets him know she's upset with him, but he does it again. Mom is 83 yrs. old. Any suggestions ?

Female Hormones to calm Male Cat NEW
by: Anonymous

I had the same thing happen to my mom. My brother gave me a male chocolate point kitten for my birthday one year and everything was fine for several years until I met a man and started thinking about marriage. Unfortunately He was highly allergic to my cat. His neck would swell up and his throat would almost close shut. After 3 separate trips to the ER we finally figured out it was my Siamese cat. When we decided to get married I unfortunately had to leave my Siamese (Maui) with my mom. And that is when my trouble started. My Mom said he started attacking her out of the blue with no warning and for no reason. I took Maui to the local vet who was a very prominent vet and even had his on local tv spotlight segment on our local news.
He ended up putting Maui on female hormones to calm him down.Everything became fine again But unfortunately Maui then became fat and lazy and got hit by a truck crossing the street.
