Separation anxiety?

Ok my Ripley is giving me fits. He is 4.5 male and neutered. Things started when I went away on a two week vacation and although I had two different neighbors come in to take care of the boys (I have another Siamese as well), he has worked himself up into a frenzy and developed colitis. We have that under control now with a course of Prednisone, but short of giving him Kitty-Valium any suggestions as to what I can to do to make it easier on him during the day while I am gone at work. He is home with his buddy and my dog so it's not that he's alone, but that I am not there. I work full time and it's impossible for me to be home with him 24/7.
