Siamese and her Burmese

Siamese and her Burmese

My Siamese had a beautiful dark brown velvet nose that changed overnight to pink ! She is now four years old and is pictured with her "sister", a blue Burmese. The Siamese coloring never changed to tortie, she just has speckles on her ears, eyes and mouth. No one has offered any ideas as to why? :) She is quite the team with her "sister". Where one goes, the other follows. Vet visits are always in tandem, regardless of reason. The burmese girl is 5 years old. They are the best friends and their personalities really complement each other. Burmese girl is patient and calm and of course the Siamese girl is hyper and easily startled. They are a blast together.

My neighbor had a super rare Siamese? with a white nose! NEW
by: Daniel Cheetah

Months ago I observed a few times a Siamese seal point/color point. Here is what is super strange:

It looked like a Siamese with perfect white feet, as in a perfect straight division. It seems that that's a ragdoll trait, further it had a white star like splotch on its face, spefically right on/around the nose and no where else, it had no white streak, no white on the chin or or lips or I simply couldn't tell because it kept its distance. It was so strange because it's nose area was BRIGHT white, very centralized, against a brown siamese face! It had short hair and a white-beige body. Now I cannot find one single pic on the internet of anything close to that look. My cat traps were stolen so I was never able to capture it (it's actually feral). I suspect it has kittens that look like it. If anyone would provide me with two trucatch traps and two folding ones and some carriers and bags of dry catfood to catch them I will send you one of the kittens that has this incredibld and stunning appearance of the parent. You'd need to send me the shipping money. If you're a cat fanatic and after the rareest most stunning eye-catching cat, I'm telling you, this is it! If you're willing to pay $50,000 I will spend all my time trying to track it down and its kittens. It could be the start of a new breed. Please contact me at ilovesushiwushi@gmail.com for this endeavor.

Note: if I cannot get the kittens if they even exist, but catch the original, I WILL CLONE IT FOR YOU (that's why I'm asking for the large some in part, but also because I'd have to put in a huge amount of energy and suffering into this as I'm a chronic fatigue and pain sufferer and suffered a devestating burglary. I lost my computer which had 8 years of all kinds of photo work, monetary videos, books I slaved to write and trance music remix material, lyrics, poems even incredible t-shirt designs sigh :(

Ugh, my life! It sucks so bad :*(

I'm almost homeless bcz of all this!

But for the love of cats, which have kept me from suicide all my life and kept me from sinking into the deepest depression I'm up for this task. I think it would be so tragic for such a rare trait and possible new breed type that could elevate the status of cats as among the most fantastically beautiful animals in the world to be lost to some damned disease, hit by a car, a cat fight (it's part of a huge colony, hence the request for four traps), or one of the neighborhood cat haters who enjoys shooting cats with bb guns and the head of a nearby HOA who poisons them with antifreeze and boasts about it!

19 Years Old NEW
by: Jennifer

Hi there!
I have a 19 year old Chocolate Seal Point Siamese, who around the age of 5 began changing colours. His coat was so gorgeous, and he still is. But now, he is almost white. The transformation is really incredible, and the pads of his paws changed, his nose changed. His nose will be pink when he's warm, and white when he's cold. And you all know cats, they'd rather be warm, so I call it his mood ring :)
I have been doing a lot of research about caring for elderly cats, especially siamese's with vitiligo. I am so happy to have found this forum. I know It's been some time since the last post. I wish I could post a photo of Joey for you all to see. And yes, we say it's the Michael Jackson thing too. hahaha!
Cheers! And Cherish your Siamese's. They are so special. :)

Love our pink nose Siamese NEW
by: Anonymous

I believed my chocolate point Siamese was born with pink nose and pads. We got her when she was 6 months old from a rescue group. Maybe she "lost" her coloring when she was a few months old. We don't know her breeder so we'll never know. They suspect she was born in the Lancaster, PA area, and I always thought it was a defect in the gene pool there. Now after reading all your comments I wonder if she has a skin condition. My vet never saw a Siamese like that, he kids he wants to take a magic marker to her. Funny, at first I thought I couldn't get use to it, now I see other Siamese and they look "funny" to me.

About that Pink Nose... NEW
by: tamstercat@siamesecatspot.com

Hi Laurel,

Both your girls are beautiful! I think your Siamese has a skin condition known as vitiligo. I would love to feature her on our website as well, www.siamesecatspot.com. You can also visit our facebook page www.facebook.com/welovesiamesecats

When a cat gets vitiligo, pigment is lost on various parts of the body--normally the nose, lips, eyelids, other parts of face, and paw pads. It tends to develop in young adulthood.

This is just a cosmetic condition--no pain and definitely not life-threatening. Though not overly common in animals, breeds such as Siamese, Dobermans, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers are more likely to get it.

There is no known treatment, but sometimes spontaneous repigmentation occurs. Usually it's permanent, though :)

Pink nose and paws NEW
by: Anonymous

My beautiful seal point siamese girl "Topaz" passed away on the 19/01/2013.I would like to let everyone who finds this site know that whatever the reason for her having a pink stripe on her nose and pink patches on her paws it never caused her any problems in her life. She had to be put to sleep, due to a mammary tumour! Her mother died of the same problem.I would advise anyone who is not going to breed there siamese cat to have it spayed as soon as possible, as it is known that siamese cats that are not spayed are at risk of getting mammary tumours. Also never let your vet give you ovarid to stop their seasons, as this is also another factor in mammary tumours! Please google the risks of this drug!I wish you all well with your siamese cats!

My pink nosed, pink pawed Seal Point NEW
by: Anonymous

Wow - I am so glad I found this site. The same thing happened with our Seal Point Siamese. At around six months the front part of her nose turned pink and her paws are pink. I wondered if she was actually a mix, although other than the nose and paws, she's has the Seal Point coloring.

pink nose and pads NEW
by: Anonymous

I heard that means your cat is really a tortie point...meaning she has the red gene. If you breed her, she would have had some flame point kittens. She may have had flame point brothers and and at least one of her parents have the red gene.

My seal point siamese has a pink nose
by: Racheal

My seal point siamese (topaz) has a pink stripe in the middle of her nose.
When i asked my vet what it was, he didnt have a clue!I did my own research to find out what was wrong with her, as i had breed her mum and she was from her first litter.I was worried i had done something wrong when breeding!
Anyway i googled the answer and came up with vitaligo. It is a skin pigment fault, she also has pink patches on her paws too.
It is nothing to worry about and i call it the michael jackson affect, as people thought michael jackson was bleaching him self to become white.
He too had vitaligo.
my girl is now 9 years old and it has never caused her any problems.
Although i do feel like colouring her nose in with a felt tip!!!!!!!!!

Pink Nose and eye corners
by: Paulette

My chocolate Siamese, Mickey Blue, has the same condition. My vet said it was caused by solar Dermatitus. It showed when he was about six months old.

My cat also has a pink nose.
by: C

My cat is almost a year old now and her nose has changed pink. She is a seal point Siamese and her nose was dark when I got her and slowly started changing when she was about 6 months old. Her eyes near the corner have also changed pinkish. I thought maybe she was sick at first.

pink nose
by: Anonymous

Yes yes yes. Her nose is light in color when she is completely relaxed but when she gets spunky and active, the blood circulation turns it a pretty pink ! But my Siamese was not born this way... that's what is so weird. She was fine and then one day, pink? Now I notice the fur area under the corner of her eyes is beginning to turn more white. She is my mottled mess ! I too am glad she is unique ! I am very glad she fell into my home and not someone who would not have appreciate her uniqueness !!!
