The 'Life of Riley'

After years of growing up with dogs, my daughter Olivia begged me to adopt a kitten after our beautiful, 12 year cocker spaniel Gemma went to doggy heaven. Enter 'Riley'!

Riley and his 2 brothers were the product of their siamese Mum having a one night stand with a ginger. Riley has completely changed my opinion of cats. He's so beautiful, affectionate, very clean and tidy but a little naughty.

As new cat owners we bought him all the bells and whistles when it came to toys. But, he only wants to play with hair bands which he likes to flick under cupboard doors to hide, and rolled up pieces of paper that he uses like a soccer ball kicking from one end of the house to the other. A little bit annoying at midnight when we are trying to sleep.

We did still have Monty the 14 cocker spaniel until recently who has now gone to heaven with Gemma. Monty and Riley sometimes used to share the same bed although Riley got a bit bossy at times.

Riley has brought a lot of joy to our lives but he is really Olivia's baby.
