Will she starve herself to death?

I have a 6 year old Siamese named Cammie. I also had a mixed breed (part Siamese) 2 year old cat when I got Cammie as a kitten. The two of them got along just fine for nearly 6 years. Three months ago the mixed breed cat died. Cammie seemed to mourn for a couple of weeks and then was fine. Cammie has always been very vocal. Here's the problem. About a week ago I brought a freshly neutered, 12 week old male Siamese kitten into the house. I introduced them over 2 or 3 days. Cammie does not like this kitten at all. At first she hissed and growled a lot but did not attack. At this point Cammie seems to be tolerating the new kitten's presence in the house - no more hissing or growling-but she has basically stopped eating. She stays in one of the bedrooms, rarely coming out and has stopped "talking" entirely. I'm worried she will starve herself to death. I don't want to get rid of the kitten but I will if it's the only way to get Cammie back to normal. Any advice?

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE LEFT THAT MESSAGE.
by: angelina diantonio

How pathetic in todays day and age to leave a message to kill one.Every time I put the TV on I see children and animals being abused. Our children and animals do not ask to be put here.It is our job to take care of them.Take a look at yourself.Never give advice that someone could take to heart. How pathetic. How would you feel if someone said or did that to you or someone or something you love.PATHETIC and I am NOT KIDDING !!!!!!

They just need time.

First your cat is in mourning still.Second they need time.Make sure you show them both affection.Seperate them for a while if necessary. It could take a couple months, but they will love each other down the road.Keep us posted.
