My cat will not eat and throwing up

by Julie
(Cox)

I got this kitten named smokey a month ago and he loved to eat, He was starved and had worms and very malnutrition. I took him to the vet for all of that. It has been three days since he has eating any food, all he will try to do is drink a little water he is starting to lose what little bit of weight he did gain. I do have a appointment for him this Friday. But what can I do to get something down him. He only weighs 1 pound 2oz. I'm worried. I try to offer him his favorite foods and nothing works, Do I need to try to bottle feed him. he is only 14 weeks old but does not look that old. I appreciate any help Thanks so much.

Cat with bad weight loss

HELLO I'm soo glad I found this site. I needed some advice for my mommoms cat kiki. He is pretty old and is fixed and up to date on shots. My sister lives with my mommom and I stopped by yesterday to see them and I picked up kiki because he ran up to me which is weird bec u have never picked him up in his life bec he just likes my mommom n my sister but he let me which was odd. Then I started feeling bones in his back n his ribs its like he is starving but my sister said mommom spoils him with food every time he meows. So when I discovered how skinny he was I started questioning my sister on how he ate and she said he doesn't finish a wet food small can ever most of the time it gets thrown away. I'm very worried I'm taking my kitten to get shots in two days n I called n asked if I could bring kiki too n they said yes so we will see a vet but I wanted to no if anyone has ever heard of a siamses older cat with bad weight lost so much that it looks like he has been starving n one more thing we have lots of fields around us n kiki is a inside/outside cat. And his gums look perfect n regular bowl movement n no worms in site n has been flea n Wormed lately as well. Thank u for ur time

Lynx Point Siamese

by Jordan
(Clarksville, Indiana)

My cat had a litter of 6 kittens. 2 of which were lynx point siamese once they were old enough to give away, I gave oe of the siamese to my brother and his girlfriend. I had not found a home for the second one a home yet. I'm concerned about the other kittens right now because both the lynx point siamese kittens died for no reason. They were healthy and showed no symptoms of being sick. Do they have something genetic that could cause this or make them sick in any way? Should I be worried about the other kittens? they are only 8 weeks old now.

Siamese and allergies

by Kris
(Villa Park)

We rescued a Siamese/tabby mix kitten. He has always had a weepy eye and now has an ulcerated type sore on his lip. He has been on steroids and we have changed his food. The vet seems to think it is some type of food allergy. Are Siamese prone to this? It breaks my heart when his lip breaks out. Has anyone heard of this?

Cat Asthma

by JJ
(uk)

I have adopted a 8 yr old siamese.

The previous owner said she has a stomach ulcer and we are having to feed her small amounts of food four times a day otherwise she will vomit yellow bile, this can happen up to four times a day.

She also has very wheezy breathing, she sounds like she has a permenant cold although there are no other symptoms of cold/cat flu, the previous owner says she has always been snuffly and wheezy and the vet told him this was because she contracted cat flu at some point in the past (the previous owner had her from rescue)

She has been under recent vet treatment for the ulcer with the previous owner, i phoned them to change over details and they told me there were no illnesses or long term issues with the cats health, so the vet was obviously unconcerned about her breathing. I'm still waiting for them to transfer her notes over but they werent too concerned about her health, and the only issue seemed to be the ulcer which would get better in time.

Has anyone heard of previous cat flu causing long term snuffly, wheezy breathing?

Also is there anything we can do to improve the ulcer? I am mashing her meat up fine and adding water to make it mushy, she eats small amounts four times a day, the vet thinks the ulcer was caused by stress as she was a breeding cat kept locked up in a room for seven years then rehomed twice. We have tried hills food for sensitive stomachs but she wont eat it, right now she is on normal canned cat meat mashed up fine.

thanks

thanks

Cat URI infection

by Michelle
(Kansas)

Our 6 year old Siamese cat had a URI for a couple of weeks. He has made a full recovery however, his face just below the eyes has turned greyish almost over night. Should I be worried?
