They get darker
by: Sean UK

Siamese are born white as we know. The colours are darker where the body is colder due to a gene they carry. My seal point princess has got darker as she got older. Her hotter parts have the beautiful coffee colour and the colder bits a lovely black. She is almost a year and has her grown up colours which will get more vivid but not darker. When she was spayed she started to grow a black patch where she was shaved and it was colder. It’s slowly growing back but will take a while to go back to coffee. Enjoy a unique and lovely friend.

Apple head verses wedge head
by: Doris Arnold

My boy China is now a year and two months and is a lilac point. He has gotten darker as he has grown and has absolutely the longest tail I have ever seen! He has the wedge head and unfortunately has had bad breath since I brought him home at 7 weeks..Our vet has informed me that the wedge head breeding (instead of the apple shaped) has really hurt the breed because the wedge head keeps the teeth too close together and many Siamese have teeth that will need cleaning done several times. Including my sweet boy...alas...

color change

My cat is definitely a chocolate point - the contrast is very clear between ear ears, nose, and rest of her face and neck - it's just the body that's getting more light grayish-brown

Not sure exactly, but all Siamese get darker as they get older. I have a 3 year old Seal Point who used to be a beautiful tan, but is now almost completely black except for her tummy and under her neck.

Chocolate Point
by: Beatrice

Hi,

It sounds like you have a Seal Point and not a Chocolate point. I have a chocolate point and the delineations between the chocolate and the cream bits are very marked. They should not blur with age, so I do think that you have the seal point which go much darker with age. That is why I choose the chocolate point.

YOu are so lucky to have the lovely apple head, mine has the wedge head and even though she is beautiful, I wish her head were less wedge.

Kind regards,

Beatrice from Wicklow in Ireland
