Zeus in the Garden
Hello,we recently acquired a chocolate point Siamese kitten late March 2011. The lady that was going to take him called him Zeus because he was the largest kitten in the litter. We were going to get a lilac point kitten, but as soon as I looked into Zeus sultry blue eyes, I knew he was the kitten for us! The lady had changed her mind, so Zeus was available for adoption. I've never had a Siamese before; I'm usually a tabby person. I wasn't sure if I was going to like a Siamese as my impression was that they were very aloof. Not Zeus, he's soooo affectionate! He's always giving me kisses. He's more like a dog, comes running when I call him, especially at dinner time. He still has his cat instincts and loves hunting in the jungle of a garden we have on our property. It's a cat's paradise with lots of tall ferns, bushes, trees, and flowers and with it all the birds and critters that like gardens. We'd had quite a spell of wet weather through most of May and I was cleaning up in the kitchen. We leave the sliding patio door open just enough for Zeus to get in and out. I stepped back from the sink and stepped on something rubbery, looked down and discovered a dried up piece of worm. I thought I'd brought it in on my shoes, but about a half hour later I stepped on another piece of worm. What the heck?! And then the culprit showed himself. In came Zeus with a nice long squirmy earth worm which he set at my feet and began to play with. No Zeus! No worms in the kitchen! I threw it out, only to my chagrin when Zeus retrieved the worm and brought it back in again. I threw that worm at least 100 yards from the house and he still found it and brought it back. Like I said, more like a dog than a cat!
