I never let my cats outdoors.
by: angelina diantonio

Too many dangers. I get urinary probelms all the time. I am not sure .Ask your Vet, but I drink Cranberry juice to help mine. It has to be Cranberry all natural .No corn syrup.Ocean Spray makes one and Organic also would work.

Urinary problems
by: Beatrice

Hi there,

You have not said what the urinary problems are. Are they frequency, Urinary Tract Infection, Nephritis? so it is hard to know what's going on here. My Burmese pees in the house all of the time if he cannot get out and feels he is being trapped inside, particularly if he feels that there are other cats outside invading his territory. It sounds like a territorial issue with your cat, due to the smells in the apartment from Zoe,, your previous cat, and this cat is trying to establish his or her territory. Have you tried letting her out or is this possible? I know a lot of Siamese cats stay in doors and so does mine, but I had to let my Burmese out as he was ruining the house with the constant spraying of furniture and it was an anxiety issue with him as he thought that his territory was being invaded by other cats.

Is it possible to take up this carpet with the previous cat's smells? Cats are very sensitive to other cats' smells. They are very territorial as a species.

The other issue is that many pedigree cats run into kidney problems from an early age. It is a genetic thing with them.

Always leave the cat litter in the same place in the house, as otherwise it will just confuse her. Give her plenty of good quality dry food and lots of water. Hopefully she will grow out of it once she feels more secure. I feel it is a security problem.

Hope this helps.
