Siamese cat cried loud but only when my husband is home

by Penny
(Clive, IA)

My husband travels out of town a few times a week. During those nights that he is gone, my 11 year old siamese is perfect. He is well behaved and sleeps quietly on my bed. He doesn't make one peep. The moment my husband returns home, the cat goes crazy. He meows and cries so loudly all night long and keeps up both up! We have a 1 yr old and a new baby on the way and I need all the sleep I can get right now. Why is he doing this all of a sudden? He likes my husband and always plays and cuddles with him during the day. He even sleeps on him at night when he does finally sleep. Please help!!

My Cat is Night Howling

by Caitlin
(Trenton, MI)

I have a two year old Siamese mix that I have had for about three months. Her name is Mitten and she is a very good natured cat but at night she will walk around the house and howl. Some nights are worse than others but it is a pretty regular thing for her. I know she is not in heat because she is fixed, and I know Siamese cats are vocal but is there anyway I can try to get her to be a little less vocal at night?

My scared male Siamese cat need advice

by Lisa quinn
(Stockport)

I have a Siamese kitten who is nearly one yrs old. When I first got him and him mum , he was very confident liked to play lots and wouldn't come to me for me to stroke him, but him mum was the one hiding as she is 8 yrs old.

But since he has been neutered he has gone worse he won't come to nobody he's runs and hides away from anyone, and will only venture around if he is with him mum.

Please help just don't know what to do never had a cat like this before.

Thank you

Lisa

My siamese. Phys co

My siamese. Phys co

my Siamese sleeps right by my face lately is it normal? or is he just wanting to be center of attention? its so annoying and i cant sleep but i try to deal with it so he can sleep too. Iv had him for 3 years and his name is psycho. When we first got him he was very crazy and annoying but i love him so much now. when i have friends over he meows and meows for attention. His favorite treat is ham. i don't know if that's healthy but i give him a little every now and then. He waits for me to be in bed every night at 9:30 and he meows and starts purring when i lay down.So i dont get to sleep till 10:00

Cat pulling out fur

My Siamese is about 11 years old. About 3 months ago she started pulling gobs of fur out of one side of her. What the heck is going on?? She is eating/pooping fine, still playing like a mad fool. Nothing different about her food or eating habits.

Will my Siamese cat starve herself to death?

by K.C.
(Alabama)

I have a 6 year old Siamese named Cammie. I also had a mixed breed (part Siamese) 2 year old cat when I got Cammie as a kitten. The two of them got along just fine for nearly 6 years. Three months ago the mixed breed cat died. Cammie seemed to mourn for a couple of weeks and then was fine. Cammie has always been very vocal. Here's the problem. About a week ago I brought a freshly neutered, 12 week old male Siamese kitten into the house. I introduced them over 2 or 3 days. Cammie does not like this kitten at all. At first she hissed and growled a lot but did not attack. At this point Cammie seems to be tolerating the new kitten's presence in the house - no more hissing or growling-but she has basically stopped eating. She stays in one of the bedrooms, rarely coming out and has stopped "talking" entirely. I'm worried she will starve herself to death. I don't want to get rid of the kitten but I will if it's the only way to get Cammie back to normal. Any advice?

siamese face biting

by Holly
(Utah)

Although I have had cats all my life, this is my first siamese and the first encounter I have had with this behavior. Our 10 week old siamese kitten seems to enjoy biting our mouths, ears, and noses only in the middle of the night. At first we thought it was a request for food but after feeding our baby, she would return and continue. What is this behavior?!
