Siamese scared of visitors

by Pamela
(BC Canada)

We've now had Bella for nearly three months. She has settled down a lot, but unexpected noises or movements still upset her, and she charges off and hides if visitors come. She hasn't even become used to our cleaning lady & she's here every week. I'm worried that we won't be able to go on holiday next year because we'd need her to settle with the cat sitter.

Cat Sitter

That's even better that the sitter comes to your home. When it comes to Siamese, everything about them are larger than life. They really are drama queens.

About Bella
by: Pamela

Thank you for the reassurance. If we go away we have a cat sitter who comes to our home. She is quite lovely and has 'sat' for all our previous cats over the past several years. Bella is a very twitchy kitty.

I think perhaps I'm still getting to know the nature of a Siamese. Many years ago we had a Siamese cross, but he was exceptionally laid back...nothing bothered him.

Your Bella

Some cats just take longer, and that is ok. My newest kitty, a really cute male bobbed tail cat has taken probably over a year to trust, and he seems to be improving as time goes on. In time she will get use to your cleaning lady. Everything will be fine. When you go on vacation she will be fine. Will she be at home? Or at a different place. My Siamese is the type that is always wanting attention, wants to sit on you, just so loving, but she runs when strangers come in the house. It takes a while for her to get use to people.
